Join your 93rd Bomb Group Association family as we return to the roots of the 93rd’s beloved B-24 Liberator.  San Diego was home to Consolidated Aviation, who designed and built the first prototypes of the mighty Liberator.

 

The details are set.  Your reunion committee has put together an experience that weaves together the history of the 93rd, our veterans’ stories, the aviation industry of San Diego that gave us the B-24, and a local experience of Old Town San Diego.  You’ll stay in a tropical themed hotel situated on Harbor Island surrounded by a marina with amazing sunsets over the Pacific Ocean.  The hotel is 10 minutes from the airport, an easy cab or Uber/Lyft ride. And San Diego in November beats scraping ice off your windshield back home!

 

We will start with a Happy Hour on Thursday evening with heavy hors d’oeuvres and socialize in the Memorabilia Room to catch up with old friends and learn about their veteran. 

 

Friday we will spend the day on the town, visiting the USS Midway—a World War II era aircraft carrier—Balboa Park’s Air and Space Museum, and spend the evening in Old Town San Diego enjoying authentic, local Mexican fare at Barra Barra.

 

Saturday and Sunday will be spent in the hotel learning from our members and local historians about the experiences our veterans would have had with the Liberator.  Saturday night is our solemn Memorial Dinner (business attire is recommended). 

 

The reunion team has worked hard to keep the costs to a minimum, and for Southern California the total cost is not much higher than it was for Ohio last year.
